Your Credit Union and COVID-19

During this challenging time we’re here to serve and support you. As the global impact of coronavirus (COVID‑19) continues to unfold, American Airlines Federal Credit Union is open for business while taking additional steps to protect the health, safety and well-being of our members, employees and communities.
At the start of the crisis in March, we automatically deferred all consumer and business loan payments for 30 days. You can submit a consumer loan deferral request within online banking. See our Emergency Relief Information page for more details about eligible loans.

If your circumstances change and you wish to make a payment during the deferral period, you can still do so by using our online banking platform or speaking with someone in the Member Advocacy Center.
Credit Cards, Mortgage and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) loan deferrals are not automatic; however, they are available by request. See our Emergency Relief Information page for more details.
Remember: Make certain that we have the latest contact information for you, including email and phone number. This is important now more than ever as your loan deferral can’t be processed if your email doesn’t match the one we have on file. To update your information, log in to online banking and select “Settings” in the left-hand menu. Then select “My Profile” and check that your information is correct in all three options.
This loan is designed to help with the immediate needs of our members directly affected by COVID-19. This is an unsecured loan with an up to $3,000 credit limit. The first payment is deferred for 90 days and you can take up to 24 months to repay the loan. For more details, visit our personal loans page.

Mobile Deposit for Savers
We are now offering our mobile deposit feature to our savings-only members. This will allow you to make deposits by using our mobile app on your smartphone. Simply log in to online banking and select “Make a Deposit” in the left-hand menu.
Once you select the account you’re depositing to, enter the amount (up to $1,500 max per day) and then “Capture Image.” Once you photograph the front and back of the check, just click “Submit Deposit” and you’re done!
Check(s) must be endorsed as follows: “For Mobile Deposit Only at AAFCU.”

While we are continuing to provide full financial services, to better align with recent CDC recommendations regarding limiting the number of people who should congregate in a common area, we’re restricting member access to our branch lobbies effective Saturday, March 21. All of our branches will be closed on Saturdays* until further notice, but will operate under regular hours Monday through Friday.
During this period, branch employees will still be offering full services, including answering the phone, processing loans and taking deposits through the night drop box. If you need a check withdrawal, please contact your local branch and they will arrange to have it mailed or sent via Federal Express or to pick it up by appointment.
*Our HTC-Euless branch will offer expanded drive-thru hours of 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays to better meet your needs.

Our automated phone system gives you access to your account any time by calling (800) 533-0035, or you can talk with someone in our Member Advocacy Center. You can also call your local branch directly.
Economic Impact Payments
On March 30, 2020, the U.S. Treasury Department announced that distribution of Economic Impact Payments would be coming. Millions of payments have already been distributed. Most will arrive automatically, with no action required for eligible recipients. Members with account details on file with the IRS because of their 2018 or 2019 tax filings will receive payment via direct deposit.

Don’t forget that cyber criminals and scammers love to use adverse situations like the current COVID-19 crisis to try and take advantage of you. Beware of emails impersonating legitimate health organizations trying to trick you into revealing sensitive information such as user names, passwords and other personal information.
