SUMMARY: Teams from across American, including three from the Credit Union, pulled a massive jet at DFW to raise money for the American Airlines Family Fund.
Nothing says teamwork like pulling a 140,000-pound jet together.
That’s exactly what three Credit Union teams – the Wealth Warriors 1, 2 and 3 – did recently. Following a similar event in Charlotte, 74 teams from across American Airlines and their business partners gathered at Hangar 2 at DFW Airport to pull a Boeing 737-800 exactly 15 feet, racing for the fastest finish time.
American Airlines Federal Credit Union was one of three Title Sponsors of the event which was organized across three locations – Miami is the last on the schedule on Nov. 10 – to raise money in support of the American Airlines Family Fund.
This year’s top three DFW teams were made up of American team members:
First place: Bags and Beyond finished with the fastest time of 6.37 seconds.
Second place: DFW Facilities Maintenance Full Throttle Crew finished in 6.88 seconds.
Third place: DFW Ground Force 1 finished in 6.95 seconds.
Competition was tough, with the Credit Union pulling together as follows:
Wealth Warriors 1: 41st place at 9.85 seconds
Wealth Warriors 2: 54th place at 10.32 seconds
Wealth Warriors 3: 45th place at 10.02 seconds
But it’s not about the ranking though. It’s about coming together to help make a difference for team members in need. This year, our three teams raised $3,325 adding to a total of $16,700 raised by our Jet Pull teams over the last three years.
