Manage your Money to Avoid Fees

As of March 1, 2022, we’ve made a number of changes to our overdraft program that we feel will help you better manage your finances without being over-burdened by fees.*
Here’s what’s changing
We’ve made a number of adjustments to our Bounce Protection and Bounce Protection Plus overdraft programs, including:
No fees on transactions of $20 and less: You no longer have to worry about that $4 cup of coffee costing you unwanted fees.
- • Overdrawn transactions of $20 or less won’t be assessed an overdraft or Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fee.
- • Transactions will no longer be approved once your account reaches a negative $500 balance.
- • Enroll in Bounce Protection Plus if you’d like your overdrawn one-time debit card and ATM transactions to be paid.
Fee limit: You no longer have to worry about paying excessive fees simply because you didn’t know that your account was negative.
- • You’ll never pay more than one $25 fee in a 24-hour period starting at 9 p.m Central Time.
- • This includes both overdraft fees – when the Credit Union pays your transaction – and Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fees – when the transaction is declined by the Credit Union.
- • Transactions will no longer be approved once your account reaches a negative $500 balance.
Standardized $25 fee: We’re sunsetting the Bounce Protection Plus penny program so that all NSF /Overdraft fees are $25.
Please note that restrictions on Bounce Protection and Bounce Protection Plus apply. For more details, refer to the Overdraft Options Chart.
Why are we changing?
No one should be put in a dire financial situation because of a simple mistake. We understand that problems occasionally arise but that doesn’t mean multiple fees should make your situation even worse. If you’re still having a difficult time making ends meet, remember that our Financial Wellness team is ready to offer complimentary advice and budget planning.
