SUMMARY: The Credit Union celebrated its 90th anniversary with a multi-day celebration that included parties at all 45 of branches along with treats and door prizes.
American Airlines Federal Credit Union recently marked a major milestone, celebrating nine decades of service during our 90th Anniversary Celebration, held May 16-23. All 45 of our branches across the country joined in the weeklong festivities, decking out their locations in honor of our founding on May 19, 1936.
Members who stopped by any of our branches enjoyed snacks, giveaways, and exclusive thank-you gifts just for being part of the Credit Union family. New members who joined during the celebration received a $25 bonus, and in-person visitors had the chance to win door prizes at their local branch.
Whether members joined us at a branch or from the comfort of home, we hope this milestone felt like the celebration it was meant to be. Ninety years is no small feat, and every bit of it has been made possible by the members we’re proud to serve.
“Ninety years ago, Victor Vernon and eight fellow employees at Chicago Municipal Airport (now Chicago Midway) came together with a simple but powerful idea: to create a member-owned financial institution where employees could help one another succeed,” said Credit Union President & CEO Gail Enda, “The future of this Credit Union will be shaped by the same values that inspired our founders – service, collaboration, financial strength and a genuine commitment to helping people.”
