Making work from home work for you
More people than ever are working from home (WFH), learning that you can be equally effective outside the office — but it does take some work to stay productive. Here’s how:
Set up a workspace.
Whether you have an entire room or just a nook for a home office, designating space specifically for work will help you get into the right mode.
Stay in touch.
You may not have a watercooler at home, but you can keep up the communication with your co-workers. Use tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams and Zoom to bounce ideas off each other and stave off feelings of isolation.
Strike a balance.
Don’t get sucked into working 24/7 — that will just put you on the fast track to burnout. Take breaks to eat lunch or go for a walk and set “office” hours so that you have time to tend to the non-work aspects of your life.
